Family Council

Members of the Family Council Support from families and friends are an essential part of a patient’s recovery process. Ontario Shores launched a Family Council in 2010 to create opportunities and engage families to take an active role in advancing care and service delivery for a positive patient and family experience.

The Family Council consists of 10 – 12 elected members that are representative of families from various clinical programs of Ontario Shores.

Family Council members have told us:

  • “The hospital recognizes that families are an important part of the recovery process.”
    ~ Steve Cosentino
  • “The Family Council wants to try and help people in their journey” ~ Jean Willis
  • Through my experience I have learned many families need education, support and help.  The Family Council will be able to guide and facilitate that,” ~ Pat Hofsepian
