Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Employment and Education Services

Vocational and Adult Education services provides individual assessment, career and education counselling, skills training, and community employment opportunities for both inpatients and outpatients in a welcoming and recovery- oriented environment.  Services include:

  • Individual vocational and education assessments
  • Supported Education Program (OSSEP) for persons 21 years and older (ESL, academic upgrading, high-school credits, and post-secondary)
  • NorthStar® Computer training
  • Grove School for Young Adults (aged 18 - 21 years of age)
  • ACE Academic Upgrading Program in partnership with Durham College
  • Journey to Work Employment Group, Resume Workshop, Interview Skills Workshop, Employment Readiness Assessment, Personality Dimensions Workshop and Return to Work Group
  • Job Development and Job Coaching (Ontario Shores is an approved ODSP Service Provider)
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Return to Work planning and support
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate program
  • SafeAbility™ – health and safety training program
  • Individual Work Placement programs in hospital
