Community
Ontario Shores is a Community - we work together as one team, and with families, providers and the public as our partners, while maintaining mutual trust, transparency and shared purpose to enhance our patients' quality of life.
Community Partnerships
Ontario Shores collaborates with other organizations to improve access to care. From frontline crisis support with Durham Regional Police Service and Durham Mental Health Services, to supported employment programs with area businesses, Ontario Shores continually looks for new and innovative ways to improve the mental health system. Festival, Let’s Talk Speaker Series and Mindful Music Concert bring patients, staff and community together to enjoy film, art, music or education sessions. Visit the

In the Community
Community reintegration is a part of the recovery process. As patients progress through their treatment they spend time on the grounds or in the community. This process is carefully reviewed and monitored by the treatment team. Interaction with the community encourages further development of life skills and socialization and helps patients re-establish connections in a community setting.
