For ages 12- 18

In partnership with our patients, Ontario Shores provides specialized recovery focused outpatient programs and services. The Adolescent outpatient program is an outpatient mental health assessment and treatment clinic for young people aged 12 to 18 living in Durham Region.  Referrals are preferred from physicians, pediatricians, nurse practitioners and psychiatrists. Individuals are offered a period of assessment, medication stabilization and/or evidence-informed individual, family or group intervention focusing on symptom management and improvement in function.

For ages 18-65

The Assessment and Reintegration Program is comprised of four units offering a total of 106 inpatient beds, including 15 psychiatric intensive care beds. Complex General Psychiatry (CGP) Units A, B, C and D within this Program provide a safe and recovery-focused environment in which patients, family, staff and community organizations work together to provide short-term crisis intervention, stabilization and treatment. Individualized treatment plans are developed in partnership with patients, the treatment team, families and other organizations.

The Borderline Personality Self-Regulation Clinic at Ontario Shores provides services to individuals 18 years of age and older who are diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and are having difficulty managing their symptoms.

The goals of this therapy are to reduce symptomatology; maladaptive behaviors, and current psychological distress associated with BPD. Additional goals are to decrease admissions to inpatient units and emergency room visits. This is done through increasing coping skills while improving quality of life.

For ages 18-65

The LOVE YOU by Shoppers Drug Mart Women’s Clinic at Ontario Shores provides short term, focused consultation and treatment to women with perinatal mood disorders and other reproductive issues that affect a woman's mental health. Our clinical team includes a Psychiatrist, a Nurse Practitioner, a Registered Nurse, and a Registered Social Worker.

Ontario Shores is a teaching hospital, therefore students and other learners are sometimes involved in the services we provide.
