The Geriatric Mental Health Clinic is for seniors aged 65 and older with a psychiatric concern that is either treatment resistant or complex in nature presenting with one or more of the following: cognitive changes, behavioural changes, mood changes, anxiety or psychotic symptoms.
Inclusion Criteria
- Aged 65+
- Psychiatric concern that is either treatment resistant or complex in nature
- Presenting with one or more of the following: cognitive changes, behavioural changes, mood changes, anxiety or psychotic symptoms
- Diagnosis is unclear
- Suspected early (age) onset dementia
- Unusual/atypical presentations
- Cognitive difficulties may co-exist with complex medical problems and/or psychiatric issues
How do I access this service
Referrals are accepted from specialists (psychiatrists, neurologists and geriatricians), family physicians and nurse practitioners. Referrals are accepted from within our
primary service area.
