This six-month Senior Elective rotation offers unique learning opportunities for residents in Psychiatry in PGY3-6 who are interested in Adolescent Psychiatry.
Our inpatient programs are unique in the Province, providing a wonderful opportunity for refining diagnostic skills, and learning treatment strategies within an interdisciplinary setting reserved for adolescents with complex issues.
Learning opportunities are as diverse as our clinical population and encompass:
- Mood and Anxiety disorders
- Early Psychosis
- Disruptive Behaviour disorders and
- Autism Spectrum disorders
Our inpatients benefit from structured programming that emphasizes thorough clinical assessment by an interprofessional healthcare team.
Outpatient learning opportunities include day treatment, telepsychiatric and general outpatient consults and follow-ups. We serve patients 12 to 17 from local communities or across Ontario. Details of the rotation can be tailored to the needs of the resident.
