Vice-President of Clinical Services and Chief Operating Officer
John Chen is Chief Operating Officer, COO with Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores). Mr. Chen joined Ontario Shores in 2006 as Director of Finance and Information Services before becoming the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and then Vice-President, Finance and Support Services, CFO.
During Mr. Chen’s time with Ontario Shores, he has been instrumental in leading and establishing an Information Technology Department and guiding the implementation of systems solutions for the hospital before becoming the CFO in 2008. As CFO he was accountable for the finance activities of the hospital and contributing to the strategic directions of the organization.
Prior to joining Ontario Shores, Mr. Chen worked with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as Director of Finance, Procurement and Distribution. He also held several positions at the University Health Network from Senior Business Analyst to Director of Finance.
Mr. Chen is a chartered accountant and holds a Masters Degree in Accounting to go along with 15 year’s experience financial planning and management.
