Travis Capes, joined RBC Royal Bank close to 28 years ago and spent much of his career in a variety of client facing, marketing and leadership roles, while earning his Personal Financial Planning designation. Currently, Travis is the Regional Vice President Financial Planning covering Ontario North & East.

Sharon Dunn is a Human Resources Leader with over 20 years’ experience working in complex organizations. A versatile and results oriented human resources professional with expertise in assessing and building strategic and integrated talent management programs. Her career spans consumer packaged goods, financial services, logistics and real estate development in private, public and not-for-profit sector organizations.

Karen serves as the President of Cira Health Solutions, spearheading the company’s growth and development and streamlining corporate objectives. An accomplished executive leader with over 12 years of experience in the health industry, Karen brings a unique combination of business and clinical acumen to her role, complemented by strong relationship management skills. She has authored white papers on mental health and chronic pain, and advocates for mental health solutions frequently taking her message to the media on daytime and news radio and television.

His current role is National Director – Public Sector, Scotiabank - with primary duties to provide leadership and strategic oversight for the Bank's management and acquisition of clients in the municipal, post-secondary education and hospitals segment.

Tracey Dell   Tracey Dell, Director

Tracey Dell joined the Ontario Shores Foundation Board in 2016. She brings to the Board over 25 years work experience in the retail industry. Tracey is currently the Vice President of Operations for Shoppers Drug Mart – GTA North, where she supports 120 Store Associates/Owners. Tracey holds a Bachelor of Arts and History from York University.

Thomas has also completed Governing for Nonprofit Excellence Program through Harvard Business School and is a graduate of the Directors Education Program (DEP67) offered through ICD/Rotman School of Management. A resident of Oakville, Thomas serves as a member of Ontario Shores for Mental Health Foundation Board and Chairs the Investment & Finance Committee. Thomas is also a member of The Arthritis National Board, The Governance & Nomination Committee and Revenue Development Committee.

Darren Smith   Darren Smith, Director

With 25 years in the financial services industry Darren is currently Vice President and Branch Manager for the Durham Region office of RBC Wealth Management. Darren brings previous foundation board experience having served for 6 years on a GTA East Hospital Foundation board. Darren is a 27 year resident of Durham Region and lives with his wife Sherry and 2 kids Quinn and Alyssa (both currently attending the University of Waterloo) in Whitby.

Colin has been employed with Bank of Montreal for the past 20 years with most recent 10+ years as a business banker in the Durham Region. Colin has been an active member with the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise since 2003 and has provided extensive support and board involvement in the not for profit sector across the Durham Region for the past 10+ years.

Joseph is the Co-Founder of Mental Health International and President and CEO of SEB Benefits and HR Consulting Inc. His professional career has spanned over 35 years and included senior leadership positions at Canada Life and Watson Wyatt.
Joseph has been a strong advocate for promoting workplace mental health as a boardroom issue. He co-authored a major research study: ‘A Literature Review and Gap Analysis Report: Mental Health in the Labour Force’. He was also part of the original group of professional leaders whose vision in 2009 led to the 2012 National Standard of Canada on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Ilan Fischler

Medical Director, Psychiatry Physician in Chief, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences

Dr. Ilan Fischler is the Physician-in-Chief at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores), in addition to being the Medical Director, Clinical Informatics and a Geriatric Psychiatrist on the Geriatric Dementia Unit.
At Ontario Shores, he provides leadership for medical professional practice and champions the quality and safety of medical practice and care.  He is innovative, passionate about how the application of technology can advance the mental health care system and he is dedicated to providing recovery-oriented care to the patients he serves.


Mike Boyce

Mr. Boyce has over 30 years’ experience working in health insurance claims and risk management. He is Vice-President, Claims for the HIROC Group. He is a member of various committees with the Canadian Patient Safety Institute and has an MBA from Queen’s University.

Mr. Mamdani’s areas of focus include information management, employee engagement, financial and operational management, governance, land and building development, collective bargaining, funding systems and strategy development and execution. Mr. Mamdani holds an MBA from McMaster University and is a CPA.
