Joe is Executive Vice President, Mental Health with Green Shield Canada (GSC). In this role, he is responsible for building the company’s mental health strategy. Joe also oversaw Green Shield Holding’s acquisitions of Inkblot Therapy and Tranquility Online Previously, Joe was responsible for GSC’s public sector strategy and Individual line of business.
Prior to joining GSC, Joe was Senior Vice President, Ontario Region Leader and Public Sector with Morneau Shepell and Vice President, Innovation and Skills with the Business Council of Canada. While at the Council, Joe launched and led the Business/Higher Education Roundtable, an organization that harnesses the strengths of Canada’s top businesses, universities and colleges to deepen collaboration and improve opportunities for young Canadians. Earlier in his career, Joe worked for the Government of Canada.
Joe holds Masters’ and Bachelor of Arts Degrees respectively from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University and the University of Western Ontario. He is Vice Chair of the Board of the Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health. In the past, he sat on the boards of MindBeacon and CMHA-York Region, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s Policy Advisory and Health Policy Committees, the Education Policy Research Initiative’s Policy Committee at the University of Ottawa and the Banff Forum.
