The Pandemic Heroes – Standing Up for Mental Health Gala will be hosted by mental health advocate and former Olympic rower Silken Laumann on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the OMNI King Edward Hotel in Toronto.

Pandemic Heroes is a partnership between Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores), the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) and the national branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).

Announced in April, Pandemic Heroes celebrates the efforts of individuals, teams, and businesses who worked to support the mental health needs of their colleagues, employees and communities after the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic on March 11, 2020, to limit the spread of COVID-19.

After receiving nominations from across the country, the following recipients will be honoured on December 2 in five distinct categories:

Bell Let’s Talk Community Leader
The Stratas Foundation (Guelph, Ont.)

Essential Service Employer
Ontario Power Generation (Toronto, Ont.)

Inspiring Youth
Mégane Jacques | Children First Canada (Trois-Rivières, PQ)

Healthcare Hero
Dan Moulton and Laurie Reed |Health Sciences North (Sudbury, Ont.)

The Gala reception begins at 5:00 P.M. followed by Awards and Dinner at 6:00 P.M.
