
The Geriatric Mental Health Clinic is for seniors aged 65 and older with a psychiatric concern that is either treatment resistant or complex in nature presenting with one or more of the following: behavioural changes, mood changes, anxiety or psychotic symptoms.
Services we offer include:
- Specialized geriatric psychiatry consultations
- Short-term psychiatric follow-up for treatment optimization
- Evidence-based psychotherapy
- Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) group treatment (12-week skill building group) for seniors struggling with symptoms of depression and anxiety.
For ages 65+
- Aged 65+
- Psychiatric concern that is either treatment resistant or complex in nature
- Presenting with one or more of the following: behavioural changes, mood changes, anxiety or psychotic symptoms
- Must be able to attend in-person community clinic appointments or have access to OTN
- Must live in the Durham Region and require geriatric-specific care
Referrals are accepted from specialists (psychiatrists, neurologists and geriatricians), family physicians and nurse practitioners. Referrals are accepted from within our primary service area.
