Traumatic Stress Clinic

The Traumatic Stress Clinic provides specialized assessment, cognitive processing therapy, EMDR, and medication support, for individuals who have experienced or witnessed trauma and are experiencing lasting symptoms.
Services include:
  • Assessment
  • Individualized trauma focused therapy
  • Symptom management and coping strategy development

Inclusion criteria
Individuals 25 and over that are experiencing symptoms of traumatic stress.  Must be connected to a Health Care Provider in the community e.g. Family Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Community Psychiatrist or Family Health Team.

Exclusion Criteria
Intellectual disability or Borderline  Personality Disorder (BPD) as primary diagnosis or BPD symptoms primary focus of treatment. Persons with dementia, organic brain syndrome and /or ABI as these individuals are unlikely to benefit from this form of treatment.  Symptoms evident for less than 3 months.

Referrals are accepted from psychiatrists, family physicians and nurse practitioners.
